Improvement of ambulance on-time performance
The works aimed to improve ambulance on-time performance. First, current ambulance dispatch practices in Brabant-Zuidoost were captured using machine learning and a unique postprocessing phase, resulting in a representation that is both concise and more accurate than the policy commonly assumed in literature. Four enhancements to the current policy were proposed and evaluated in a realistic simulation. Results showed improvement of the on-time performance equivalent to over seven additional weekly ambulance shifts.
